And when you order through us, you're dealing directly with real people from enquiry through to production.
GETTING STARTED
How do I get started with a custom cap order?
Complete our Custom Cap Quote Request Form through our website.
Our quoting process accommodates both clients who already know exactly what they want and those who would like our assistance developing their design.
Straightforward, quote-ready enquiries remain FREE.
If you know what you want and can provide your specifications and suitable production-ready artwork, there is no charge for us to prepare your quote.
If you require assistance developing your concept, preparing artwork, making design decisions or getting your files production-ready, our Design & Consultation Service is charged at $42.50 per hour.
PERSONAL SERVICE FROM REAL PEOPLE
When you choose Artisan & Lær Custom Caps, you're working directly with us, not an automated ordering system, computer-generated design tool or AI platform.
We personally take the time to work through your ideas, artwork, colours, placement and specifications with you. Your enquiry and order are handled by real people who are actually involved in bringing your custom caps to life.
We choose to provide this genuine, old-fashioned personal service because we believe there is still enormous value in being able to work directly with the people handling your order.
That personal service involves real time, knowledge and creative work. While straightforward, quote-ready enquiries remain FREE, design assistance, artwork preparation, consultation and custom mockup services are charged accordingly.
You're not paying to use a design generator. You're paying for our time, experience and personal service.
ARTWORK & FILE REQUIREMENTS
What artwork do I need to supply?
All logos, images and design files required for your quote or proposed design must be supplied at the time of enquiry.
Due to current limitations with our website file upload system, ALL logo, image and design files must currently be emailed separately to:
Please ensure the name or business name used in your email matches the details entered on your Custom Cap Quote Request Form so we can correctly match your files to your enquiry.
Your quote request will not be processed until all corresponding files have been received.
Files supplied for production must be high-resolution and suitable for printing and/or embroidery. Preferred formats include:
• Vector files such as AI, EPS or SVG
• High-resolution PDF
• High-resolution JPEG or PNG
Low-resolution screenshots, social media images, blurry or pixelated files, photographs of logos or other unsuitable artwork may not be accepted as production-ready files.
If supplied artwork is not of acceptable production quality, you will be notified and asked to provide a suitable replacement.
If you are unable to provide production-ready artwork and would like Artisan & Lær to prepare, recreate, convert, clean up, edit or otherwise develop your artwork, our Design & Consultation charges will apply.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights, permissions and/or authorisation to reproduce any logos, photographs, artwork or other material you provide to us.
DESIGN & CONSULTATION SERVICES
Our FREE quoting service is intended for clients who can provide the information and production-ready artwork required for us to accurately quote their order.
Where additional assistance is required, including but not limited to:
• Developing or refining a design concept
• Graphic design assistance
• Logo or artwork recreation
• Cleaning up or preparing artwork
• File conversion or preparation
• Image editing
• Design consultation
• Research or development of design options
• Extensive changes or revisions
These services are charged at our Design & Consultation rate of $42.50 per hour.
Where paid design or artwork services are required, you will be advised before work commences.
Any applicable design or artwork charges will be invoiced prior to commencement and payment is due upon receipt.
No paid design, artwork preparation or consultation work will commence until the applicable invoice has been paid.
CUSTOM CAP MOCKUPS
Do you provide custom mockups?
Yes. A $50 Mockup Fee is payable before any custom digital cap mockup or visual design concept is created.
The Mockup Fee covers preparation of your initial digital mockup using the specifications and suitable production-ready artwork supplied by you and includes one round of minor revisions.
The Mockup Fee does not include graphic design, logo creation or recreation, extensive artwork preparation, significant design development or repeated revisions.
Where additional work is required, our Design & Consultation rate of $42.50 per hour will apply. You will be advised of any additional charges before that work commences.
If you proceed with a Custom Cap order through Artisan & Lær, the $50 Mockup Fee will be deducted from your Custom Cap order invoice.
If you choose not to proceed with an order, the Mockup Fee remains payable for the time and service already provided.
Payment of the $50 Mockup Fee does not constitute payment for or confirmation of a Custom Cap order and does not transfer ownership or usage rights in the mockup or design.
Can I make changes to my mockup?
Your $50 Mockup Fee includes one round of minor revisions to your initial design.
Additional revisions, substantial changes, new concepts or changes requiring additional design or artwork preparation may incur Design & Consultation charges.
Once your final mockup has been approved, no further design changes can be made unless otherwise agreed by Artisan & Lær.
USE OF ARTISAN & LÆR MOCKUPS
All mockups, design layouts and visual concepts created by Artisan & Lær remain the intellectual property of Artisan & Lær unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
Mockups are supplied solely for the purpose of reviewing and developing a proposed Custom Cap order with Artisan & Lær.
Without our prior written permission, Artisan & Lær mockups must not be:
• Supplied to another manufacturer, supplier or business
• Used to obtain alternative quotations
• Copied or reproduced
• Altered or adapted for use elsewhere
• Published or shared on social media
• Used for advertising, promotional or commercial purposes
• Otherwise distributed or used outside the Artisan & Lær ordering process
Payment of a Mockup Fee pays for the time and service involved in preparing your mockup. It does not purchase or transfer the underlying design, artwork or intellectual property rights.
MINIMUM ORDERS & PRICING
Is there a minimum order?
Our minimum order quantity for fully custom trucker caps is 25 caps per design.
Pricing varies depending on quantity, cap specifications, materials, embroidery, printing, artwork and other custom features.
Your individual quote will outline the specifications and pricing applicable to your order.
Unless otherwise stated, quotes relate only to the specifications and quantities quoted. Changes to quantities, artwork, design or specifications may require your quote to be revised.
SAMPLES & PRODUCTION
Will I receive a physical sample before bulk production?
No. Physical pre-production samples are not shipped to the client for inspection.
As part of our production process, one physical pre-production sample cap is manufactured in your approved design before your bulk order proceeds.
This sample remains with our manufacturer. Once completed, detailed photographs of the physical sample will be provided to you for review and approval.
These photographs allow you to review the overall appearance of your actual manufactured cap, including the cap colours, embroidery and/or printing, artwork placement and other visible design elements before bulk production begins.
Please review your pre-production sample photographs carefully. This is your opportunity to identify any visible issue or discrepancy between the sample and the design specifications you approved.
Bulk production will not proceed until the pre-production sample has been approved.
Once you approve the pre-production sample photographs, your approval authorises us to proceed with manufacture of the full bulk order based on that sample and the approved production specifications.
Please understand that the pre-production sample is itself a manufactured product. Minor variations can occur between the sample and individual caps produced during bulk manufacturing. Reasonable manufacturing tolerances and variations do not constitute a fault.
The physical pre-production sample is not supplied or shipped to you unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing prior to production.
Changes requested after the pre-production sample has been approved may not be possible. Where changes can still be accommodated, additional design, sampling and/or manufacturing costs may apply and a new pre-production sample may be required at additional cost.
PRODUCTION TIMEFRAMES
How long will my order take?
Custom caps are manufactured specifically for you and are not an off-the-shelf product.
Our general production timeframe is approximately 8–14 weeks plus shipping, unless otherwise advised.
Production and delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by manufacturing schedules, material availability, freight, customs, public holidays, peak production periods or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If you require your caps for a particular event or date, please tell us before accepting your quote.
While we will always endeavour to meet requested dates, specific completion or delivery dates cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed by us in writing.
DIGITAL MOCKUPS, COLOURS & PRODUCT REPRESENTATION
Will my finished caps look exactly like the digital mockup?
No. A digital mockup is a design and placement guide only. It is NOT an accurate representation of how colours, materials, embroidery, printing or other elements will physically appear on the finished product.
Digital mockups are created on a computer screen using digital colours and representations of physical materials. A manufactured cap is made using actual fabrics, mesh, thread, inks, printing processes and other physical materials.
For this reason, the colours displayed in a digital mockup WILL differ from the colours and appearance of the physical finished product.
Screen settings, device displays, lighting, photography, fabric texture, embroidery thread, print processes, material batches and the way colours interact with physical materials all affect how a colour appears.
A digital colour shown on your screen therefore must not be relied upon as an exact colour match or an exact representation of the finished cap.
Digital mockups are provided to demonstrate:
• Overall design concept
• Artwork and logo placement
• Approximate colour selection
• Cap panel and component selections
• Embroidery and/or print locations
• General layout and appearance
They are not physical product proofs.
What if I need to match an existing colour?
If your caps need to coordinate with existing merchandise, uniforms, branding or another physical product, please advise us before production.
We may request suitable reference photographs, physical colour samples, fabric samples, Pantone references or other information to assist our manufacturer in achieving the closest practical result.
We will work with our manufacturer to achieve the closest reasonable match using the materials and production options available; however, an exact colour match cannot be guaranteed.
The physical pre-production sample photographs provide your opportunity to review how your selected colours, materials and design have translated into an actual manufactured cap before bulk production proceeds.
Approval of your final digital mockup confirms your approval of the design, layout, spelling, artwork, placement and selected specifications.
Approval of your physical pre-production sample photographs confirms your acceptance of how those approved specifications have translated to the manufactured product and authorises us to proceed with bulk production, subject to reasonable manufacturing variations.
MANUFACTURING VARIATIONS
Will every cap be completely identical?
Custom caps are manufactured products and minor variations may occur between individual caps and between the approved pre-production sample and bulk production.
Reasonable variations may occur in areas including colour, embroidery, print, stitching, placement, alignment, fabric, shape and other manufacturing characteristics.
Minor variations that fall within reasonable manufacturing tolerances are not considered faults or defects.
PAYMENTS
What payments are required?
Different payments apply depending on the services required.
FREE QUOTE
No charge applies where you provide complete specifications and suitable production-ready artwork and require a straightforward quotation only.
DESIGN & CONSULTATION
Charged at $42.50 per hour where additional design, artwork preparation, consultation or development services are required. Applicable charges must be paid before this work commences.
CUSTOM MOCKUP
A $50 Mockup Fee must be paid before preparation of your custom digital mockup begins.
If you proceed with a Custom Cap order through Artisan & Lær, the $50 Mockup Fee will be deducted from your Custom Cap order invoice.
The Mockup Fee remains payable for the mockup service itself if you choose not to proceed with an order.
CUSTOM CAP ORDER
Your quote and invoice will specify the payment terms applicable to your order.
Your order is not confirmed, secured or submitted for production until the required payment has been received.
Payment of a Design & Consultation invoice or Mockup Fee does not constitute payment for or confirmation of a Custom Cap order.
No paid design work, mockup preparation, pre-production sample or bulk production will commence until the applicable payment required for that stage has been received.
CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS
Custom caps are individually designed and manufactured specifically for each client.
Once an order has been approved, paid and/or submitted for production, changes or cancellations may not be possible.
Where a requested change can still be accommodated, additional design, manufacturing or administration charges may apply.
Custom-made products cannot be returned or refunded for change of mind.
Design, Consultation and Mockup Fees relate to services and work performed and are non-refundable once that work has commenced.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Shipping is calculated according to your order quantity, carton size, weight and delivery destination and will be advised as part of your quote or prior to dispatch where applicable.
Please ensure your delivery details are correct.
Once an order has been dispatched, delivery timeframes are controlled by the relevant freight or postal provider.
For international orders, all customs duties, import taxes, clearance fees and any other charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the Custom Cap client/order owner.
These charges are not included in Artisan & Lær's pricing or shipping charges unless expressly stated otherwise.
FAULTS, ISSUES & CLAIMS
What if there is a problem with my order?
Please inspect your Custom Cap order carefully as soon as possible after delivery.
If you believe there is a manufacturing fault, damage, incorrect quantity or discrepancy from your approved order, please notify Artisan & Lær within 5 business days of delivery wherever reasonably possible and provide clear photographs and details of the issue so we can investigate promptly.
Claims are assessed against your approved design and specifications, approved pre-production sample, the goods received and reasonable commercial manufacturing tolerances.
Reasonable manufacturing variations may occur between individual caps and between the pre-production sample and bulk production. Minor variations in areas such as embroidery, print placement, stitching, colour, fabric, alignment or other manufacturing characteristics are not automatically considered manufacturing faults.
Damage occurring after delivery, misuse, incorrect care or change of mind is also not considered a manufacturing fault.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Australian Consumer Law provides consumer guarantees relating to goods and services, including requirements concerning acceptable quality and whether goods match their description or sample. The remedy available where a consumer guarantee has not been met depends on the circumstances and whether the problem is considered major or minor.

Please contact Artisan & Lær before returning any goods so we can assess the issue and provide appropriate return instructions where required.
IMPORTANT TERMS & ACCEPTANCE
By requesting paid design services, paying a Mockup Fee, accepting a quote, paying an order invoice, approving a digital mockup or approving a pre-production sample, or otherwise instructing Artisan & Lær to proceed, you acknowledge and accept the applicable terms outlined on this page.
It is the client's responsibility to carefully review all quotes, artwork, mockups, spelling, specifications, quantities, delivery information and other order details before providing approval.
Once approval has been provided, Artisan & Lær will rely on that approval when proceeding with your order.
If you're unsure about anything, please ask us before approving your design, approving your pre-production sample or making the applicable order payment.
