Our workshops are designed for complete beginners as well as those wanting to explore traditional leathercraft in a more meaningful way.
Artisan & Lær workshops focus on guiding you in learning the real techniques behind handcrafted leather goods, taught step-by-step in a small-group setting.

This is a hands-on, small-group experience where quality instruction and individual guidance are prioritised.
What to Expect
• 9am – 4pm session
• 15-minute smoko break
• 30-minute lunch break
• BYO Smoko and Lunch
• Refreshments provided & included in the price
• Fully air-conditioned venue
• All tools, materials, premium leather and quality hardware supplied
• Small group setting (Limited to 10 participants maximum)
You’ll leave with a completed leather Spur Straps you’ve made yourself, guided step-by-step throughout the process.
What You’ll Learn
Throughout the workshop you will be guided through the full process of constructing a full set of Water Bottle Holder, learning the techniques used in tack making and working leather into functional equestrian gear.
Participants will create their spur straps, learning the methods used to measure, prepare and assemble leather tack.
Skills and techniques covered include:
• Understanding the types of leather used in tack making and their purpose
• Measuring and laying out leather components for accurate construction
• Trimming leather cleanly and accurately
• Punching holes correctly for hardware and adjustment points
• Using leatherworking tools and understanding their purpose
Construction and finishing techniques include:
• Edge bevelling to create clean, professional edges
• Burnishing edges for strength and durability
• Setting hardware securely and correctly
• Conditioning leather to protect and maintain the finished piece
By the end of the workshop you will have created a fully constructed leather product, while learning the practical techniques used in traditional tack making.

Best suited to adults and older high school students who can work independently, in a group environment and in loud environments due to the tools and techniques involved.
Recommended age: 16+ or 14+ MUST be accompanied by a participating adult.
*NOTE: These workshops are NOT quiet or slow paced therapy sessions. These workshops are full day, trade like settings requiring the ability to work independently and to follow instructions and keeping up with a group pace.
