Custom Orders

Terms & Important Information

Please take the time to read this page thoroughly before contacting me about a custom piece.

Everything at Artisan and Laer is completely Handmade and designed by myself.

Whilst I understand a small portion may feel my pricing is a little "high", I genuinely ask that you to please consider the fact that being Handmade, demands a significantly higher amount of time, effort & skill, therefore prices will reflect that.

I can assure you that my skill level and high attention to detail is guaranteed to deliver quality, long lasting products.

MUST KNOW

In order to be guaranteed a position on my Custom Calendar, you MUST first purchase an “Online Custom Order” spot via the SHOP NOW tab, under Customs. Please note, these are limited to a set number of positions per month, so it is first in best dressed.

If you would like to know pricing to have something custom made, there are a few things I need to know before I can give you a price (I do not do round-about prices).

Due to the nature of being custom made, every individual item is completely different to the next and it is almost impossible for me to simply give a "ballpark" figure on the spot.
So when I'm asked "How much for a belt" it is like being asked, "how long is a piece of string".

To save time and to make things a bit easier for us both, when contacting Artisan and Laer for an estimate on having something custom made, here are a few things to have ready:

- Size or dimensions of what you want.
- What do you want on your piece? (Names, nicknames, dates, graphics/artwork etc). If you have a picture as an example of style/design, send that with your request (NOTE: I DO NOT copy other artists work. I only use images of other artwork as a style guide).
- Are you wanting plain or fully tooled. For graphics/artwork; do you want it hand carved, stamped and/or lasered (I do combinations of all 3).
- Do you want your piece painted or natural and if so, provide colours of choice.
- Do you want your piece dyed, natural or a combination (Again, provide colours)

- For Belts, do you want it lined and fully stitched, or unlined and unstitched.

PRICING

Materials and supplies costs are subject to change without notice as my suppliers pricing changes. I will however, endeavour to notify in advance of any major changes to materials and/or labour fees.

DEPOSITS

Deposits are to secure a guaranteed position on my calendar & to order any materials or supplies required to complete your order/s.

A 50% Deposit of your total quoted price is required on all Custom work, prior to any work commencing on your order LESS your Online Custom Order purchase you made to secure your position on my Calendar.

This deposit Must be paid before any material & supplies are ordered or commencement of work on your order. Please note this amount is NON refundable and change of mind or buyers remorse is not accepted, so please choose carefully and ensure you have provided ALL the correct details (dimensions, spelling, qty, etc) because Artisan and Laer do not take responsibility for order errors, regardless of errors due to incorrect information being provided. You will still be required to pay the full agreed/quoted amount.

TIMEFRAMES

Wait times depend on a number of factors;
When you pay your deposit invoice, what date you have specified you require your order by and my workload at the time (this will all be advised up front). I can also work my orders in order of date required if I have a large quantity that are vastly spread out over a long period, then I will work on those order/s that are required sooner first (this too will also be discussed before booking in). Please note that all custom work can also be customised to accommodate your budget. So please, if you have a strict budget you are needing to stick to, advise me of this at the very beginning, as some quotes can and do take me hours to complete, so knowing this first helps save valuable time.

FINAL PRODUCT

Once your custom order has been completed, a combination of photos and/or video will be provided, to which approval will need to be provided by you in writing.

Once you are happy with and have accepted the final product, your final Invoice for the Balance of your order will be sent to you for payment. All Artisan and Laer Invoices are Due on Receipt, unless otherwise
agreed prior.

If you are having difficulty in paying your invoice, I ask that you please be honest and up front, as I am only too happy to assist with a short payment plan/extension where doable (see payment options)

Where a final Invoice or balance/s owing are not paid within 14 days from date of the final Invoice and a payment extension has not been granted, or communication has ceased with the original person whom placed the order for 14 days or more, then you forfeit any prior funds paid and the goods ordered are then advertised up for sale to the general public. 

Artisan & Laer will not communicate with any other person/s, other than the person whom originally placed the order. This is due to strict privacy and confidentiality policies.

PAYMENT & OPTIONS

Artisan and Laer can offer short payment plans on most orders where applicable. This also includes the 50% Deposit and final balance invoices. However, please note, I will not commence your order or post your order until either or both balances have been paid in full.

Where a final Invoice or balance/s owing are not paid within 14 days from date of the final Invoice and a payment extension has not been granted, or communication has ceased with the original person whom placed the order for 14 days or more, then you forfeit any prior funds paid and the goods ordered are then advertised up for sale to the general public. 

POSTAGE

Postage prices depend on weight & dimensions as per Australia Post. If your order requires additional or special packaging, you will be invoiced accordingly. This is required to be paid in full, in order for goods to be shipped.

All orders shipped with Artisan and Lær come with tracking (unless you specify otherwise) with the option of either Standard, Express or Signature Required.


Extra Insurance cover is also available upon request and is highly recommended for all orders over $100 (Australia Post Basic Cover), to which you will be invoiced accordingly (this will be discussed at the quote stage for pricing accuracy).
