In-Depth Artisan Leathercraft Workshop

This is not a hobby craft session.

Artisan & Lær workshops are structured, hands-on leathercraft tutorials designed to teach traditional techniques properly and professionally in a small-group setting.

Throughout this full-day experience, you will work with premium leather while learning traditional tooling, stamping and finishing techniques used in real leather goods production. You’ll create a detailed, functional and display-ready piece under guided instruction from start to finish.

Our workshops are suited to those wanting to explore leathercraft for the first time or more seriously. They provide genuine foundational skills that can be built upon well beyond the project itself.

Everything required for the day is fully supplied. There are no hidden extras.

What to Expect

• 9am – 4pm guided session
• 15-minute smoko break
• 30-minute lunch break
• Fully catered smoko and lunch included

You will leave with a completed leather buckle display piece you’ve made yourself — guided step-by-step throughout the entire process.

What You’ll Be Creating

You’ll create a hand-tooled leather buckle display designed to showcase your favourite buckle or trophy piece.

This workshop focuses on traditional floral tooling and stamping techniques, layout balance, clean border work and professional finishing — resulting in a structured, display-ready leather piece suitable for home, tack room or office display.

Your finished display will include:

• Premium vegetable-tanned leather
• Traditional tooling and stamping design
• Decorative border work
• Fitted hardware for secure buckle display
• Clean edge finishing and conditioning

You’ll walk away with a fully completed, functional and professionally finished buckle display.

No prior leathercraft experience is required.

Best suited to adults and older high school students due to the tools and techniques involved.

Recommended age: 16+ or 14+ MUST be accompanied by a participating adult.
