Artisan & Lær workshops focus on gently guiding you in learning the real techniques behind handcrafted leather goods, taught step-by-step in a small-group setting.

What to Expect

• 10am – 2pm guided session
• 15-minute smoko break
• Smoko & refreshments included
• Fully air-conditioned venue
• All tools, materials, premium leather and quality hardware supplied

You will leave with a completed leather piece you’ve made yourself — guided step-by-step from start to finish.

What You’ll Learn

Throughout the workshop you will be guided through the full process of creating a stamped leather YETI sleeve while learning traditional leathercraft techniques used in the construction and finishing of small leather goods.

Participants will be able to choose between creating a Yeti Tumbler Sleeve to suit either a:

  • 10oz

  • 20oz

Skills and techniques covered include:

• Understanding different types of leather and their purposes
• Preparing leather correctly for stamping and tooling
• Creating and laying out a design suitable for stamping
• Achieving clean, consistent depth when stamping leather
• Using a variety of leathercraft tools and understanding their purpose
• Decorative stamping techniques to create depth and character
• Tips and techniques to improve stamping accuracy and control

Construction and finishing techniques include:

• Applying leather dyes, paints and antique finishes
• Sealing and protecting your leatherwork
• Measuring and preparing components for accurate construction
• Preparing leather pieces for assembly
• Traditional hand lacing techniques used in leather goods
• Edge finishing and conditioning for durability

By the end of the workshop you will have created a completed stamped leather YETI sleeve sized to fit either a 10oz or 20oz tumbler, while learning foundational skills used in traditional leathercraft.
